Generator hire for small events, weddings and parties
We supply everything you need for your wedding or party to power kitchens, toilets, and lighting, both inside a marquee and within the grounds, including cabling and power distribution. Our extremely quiet generators will run the heating, utilities and sound systems for a band or DJ and most importantly the bar. Because our generators are all trailer mounted, and we have 4 x 4’s to deliver them and not vans, we really can install your generator in almost any location.
Are you running an event over a few days such as a lunch party after the wedding or making good use of a marquee for another event? We also supply fuel browsers for hire – ideal when your generator could be running over a few days, giving you peace of mind that the lights won’t go out!
Generator hire for concerts, festivals & shows
With our large fleet of generators, we can scale up to any big event with the most complex requirements such as concerts, festivals and country shows. We have a loyal group of corporate clients who trust us every year with their annual events, providing power to stages, lighting, sound systems and catering. We also provide EV charging points for hire, improving the sustainability standing of an event.
We provide backup solutions such as an additional generator and fuel browsers for extended running times with a top-up service if required.
In addition to Generator hire we have a vast supply of safe and compliant event cabling and electrical power distribution equipment for commercial events, all installed and checked by owner Paul, an electrician by trade.
The booking process to hire a generator
- Give us a call or drop us an email with the following details
- the date and type of your event, give us as much notice as possible
- what our generator/s will need to power, such as lighting, heating, the catering, bar, band, disco, toilets etc.
- If the location of the event is remote and perhaps has access problems, we may need to visit beforehand
- We will then gauge your requirements and power demands and send you a firm quote
- If you accept our quote we will require a deposit to secure our generator/s for your event
- If you are working with a marquee company, we are more than happy to liaise directly with them.
As our customer testimonials say, “if it’s possible then we can do it!”
Please note that we are very busy throughout the year, especially in the warmer months, so advance booking is essential even a year or two ahead!

Cornwall Generators is owned by husband and wife Paul and Leoni with their dedicated team. They care deeply about their reputation as a 1st class generator hire service. Reflected in the fantastic reviews and loyal clients who place their trust in them year after year, making them one of the leading generator hire companies in the South West.
We provide solutions
Paul and Leoni have a wealth of experience in generator hire for the most challenging of places. They will assess your needs and then guide you through what you will need to solve your outside power requirements, ensuring your wedding, party, festival, or county show has the power capacity and cabling, in the right place for a failsafe solution.
Support & backup
Generator Hire is always at the end of a phone call, Paul and Leoni, with their many years of experience in generator hire know everything there is to know about power backup and contingency solutions. Whether it's a secondary backup generator, additional cabling, providing fuel top-ups or a bowser hire, they are on hand to advise and support you to make certain your event is fully powered from beginning to the very end.
Quality & safety
All our event generators are extremely well presented, up-to-date, super silent units, fully serviced and load tested before every season. They are then subject to a manual and visual inspection prior to delivery. You won't find any old generators, they are retired early, so we guarantee 'low-mileage' hire models. Safety as an electrician is of paramount importance to Paul, he will ensure that your generator is connected safely with the correct cabling and power outlets.
Never hired a generator before?
Here are some FAQs
How do I know what size generator is needed?
Your first priority when hiring a generator is to figure out how much power you need. Make a checklist of all the appliances that will be powered by the generator and if known, the wattage of each (but we can figure most things out). We would always advise good practice to hire a generator with a higher voltage than what you actually require to ensure that you always have enough power to cover those last-minute or unexpected things.
Will the generator be noisy?
Our generators are considered ‘event’ generators so described as silent which really means minimal noise. Our advice is to have the generator around 20 meters away from your wedding or event. If you’re using the generator in a residential neighbourhood, a loud generator is definitely a no-no. Luckily, our generator models are specifically designed to have a low noise output, so this isn’t too much of a problem.
Can you provide the full electrical installation?
Of course, and this is an option we would encourage. With the electrical knowledge within our team, we can ensure that sockets are in the place where you require power and will always ensure you are happy before we leave the site.
Will someone show us how to work everything?
We ensure that we spent as much time as required explaining how your generator works, either to you or your event contractors, to ensure you are comfortable before we leave the site.
Is there an extra cost for the time the generator runs for?
We do not have a ‘cap’ on the length of running time. This should be the least of your worries during the event. We do discuss how long the generator may be running, so we can allow for you to have enough fuel.
Is someone available should we have a question during the hire period?
We are a family business, our phones are always on should you have any further questions.
Can the delivery date change?
We always try and be flexible with our deliveries and often liaise with the marquee supplier to coincide with their installation, allowing enough time for our clients to have power on site for dressing their venue. If the celebrations are continuing for longer, we can accommodate a delay in returning to collect our equipment etc
